January came and gone

It is truly amazing how fast time goes by, especially as you get older. Rhett(Anziano Scheurn) has been gone 6 weeks he is almost fluent in Italian. Tamy got to visit Posey and Ben in Savanah, They all enjoyed each others company and had allot of quality time together. I stayed home and kept the dogs and horse fed. I would have love to have gone to Georgia but the timing wasn't right. There is never a day that goes by that there are things that need to get done that keeps both Tamy and myself extremely busy. So many times prioritizing can be the hardest thing to do, between recreation and things that have to be done, it seems to always get harder to choose!
I have a feeling that this year will fly by faster than ever. All of our grandchildren are growing up right before our eyes and it has been a real blessing for us to be so close to them, I feel certain that as they get older we will know each other even better. Next week I will be traveling to Dallas Tx. for the Super Bowel ware Green Bay will play Pittsburgh. I think I'll cheer for GB since I can;t stand the Steelers. Than the following week we will be hitting the sand dunes ware I will be trying out the 2 inch A arm extensions in the front end of my Quad. Peace Out For Now!

History First Hand

Nov. 13 2010 What a day to remember!

General Authorities

It started early as always by coordinating 350 chairs from our Stake, we had to have them set up along with 5000 other chairs by 7:00AM for the Gilbert Temple Groundbreaking and Ground Dedication. My assignment was to be in charge of Chairs and Ushers. The weather was typical for November a fantastic 75 degrees. Joe and Erin took their children and took some pictures, as they get older they will appreciate how historic this event really was. Along with the Temple assignment we had a Stake breakfast that fed over 500 people, we displayed Emergency Preparedness information at several booths for people to learn about. the chairs had to be taken back and set up at each building At 2:30PM we had a world wide leadership training meeting, and at 7:00PM Adult Session of Stake conference.Sunday Stake Conference was a broadcast from Salt Lake. When I have time I will write about the details. All of the children got their shot of making history

The Dawning of the chairs! ALOT OF HISTORY!!!

Well Rhetts Mission Call came today after everyone so patiently waited for it! JUST KIDDING! We all have been anxiously waiting like a first time mother waiting to give birth! There were quite a lot of Rhetts friends over here to watch him open and read his mission call.We all yelled for joy as he read! YES you named it he was called to serve in the Milan Italy Mission! He reports at the MTC in Provo Utah on December 15Th.We are all so proud of his decision to serve for two years. I know in my heart that some one in Italy is waiting for him to arrive. They just don't know it yet!

Summer Fun 2010

We all had allot of fun this last summer of 2010 there were a few trips, Mexico with Joe, Walker, and myself went to San Carlos Mexico with Adam to do some deep see fishing. My brother in law Kip and his son Hunter met up with us down there. We drove down. It only took about six hours. The food was GREAT and the weather couldn't have been any better. I was actually the winner of the in house jack pot adding up all the stats, length and weight, I took the grand prize which was I didn't have to buy dinner.

Joe, Rhett, and myself did a four day er to so Cal. to visit Stacy,Kim,and their grown up kids. I played golf wit Pete while the boys went spear fishing off the Coronado Islands, Again we were blessed with the best weather any one could ask for.

Our main Vacation was eight days in Savannah Ga. with Posey and her family. We all had plenty of time to visit and I had a great chance to see Savannah allot better than the last time we were there which was just for one day. Ben drove me around the back roads ware I was able to see the true beauty of that part of the country. We were able to hit the beach several times. The water was warm and again the weather was absolutely perfect. Arriving at the Jacksonville Airport!

A Vacation in Savannah

Well not to long ago Tamy decided she wanted to go to Savannah to visit our daughter(Posey), Son-in-law(Ben),and their three boys(Vance, Brogan, and Gray). At the last minute I was prompted to go with her, then we both thought that Rhett needed to go see them also especially since he will be leaving shortly to serve a two year church mission. They have been very hospitable, gave us their bed,and have something planned every day. The weather has been perfect and the ocean water couldn't have been any nicer.

We have managed to hit the beach a couple of times and will probably try for one more round before we leave. The boys have matured quite a bit since we last seen them almost a year ago.

Never A Rest!

Saturday I thought I would take the day off! Started with blood donation at 8:00, they said it might have been a record, filled a pint in 5 min and 23 sec. next was straighten up the back yard, clean the pool and get ready for Emma's 6Th birthday at 3:00. We had to be at Gavin's baptism by 11:00. It was a good turn out. Cita played the piano, Gavin's Grandma Ellsworth gave the talk about Baptism. His Dad Baptised and Confirmed him and Ken and myself were the witnesses. It is so amazing how much Gavin has grown and how much older he seems after being Baptised.

After stopping and getting a burrito at Chapolte's it was back to the house to help joe finnish prepping the back yard for the birthday swim party. Both Joe and Erin really went over the top, it was a two part party with a time schedule. 3:00-4:00 kids Swim; from 4:00-5:00 They rode Jaylee around the pasture; and from 5:00-6:00 they ate and swam. It was pretty hot around 109 degrees. From 6:00-9:00 Erin's family came by for pizza and did a little swimming.I don't think I got to bed before 12:00.
